A New Paradigm in Global Health

Recent crises have shown the critical need for agile, accurate, and collaborative disease forecasting. The HFA was formed to meet this global challenge.

The Challenge

The increasing frequency of public health emergencies, driven by climate change and other global challenges, demands a shift from reactive response to proactive, data-driven preparedness. Siloed data and privacy concerns have historically hindered effective global collaboration.

Our Solution

The HFA is a global “network of networks” that unites premier research institutes and ministries of health. We establish common standards, protocols, and methodologies to accelerate synergies, enabling more efficient and cost-effective preparedness for disease outbreaks.

Privacy-Preserving AI for Global Insights

Our innovative approach uses distributed AI to foster collaboration without compromising data sovereignty.

Federated & Transfer Learning

We utilize distributed Artificial Intelligence (edge AI) techniques. This allows our network partners to train predictive models on sensitive local data. Instead of sharing raw data, only anonymized model weights are shared. This enables the development of robust, globally-informed models while preserving data sovereignty and patient privacy—overcoming one of the biggest barriers to global health collaboration.
